Learning is an Adventure

This week we will begin studying the concept of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. At first, I thought that this was going to be a difficult subject to teach the kids, but the Horizons curriculum does a great job with showing many examples of ways to show the idea of three in one. Today we used an egg. The kids were very excited to crack open their eggs. We discussed that there was ONE egg. The egg is made of THREE parts: egg shell, egg yolk, and egg white. Tying this in to our lesson, we used the idea of our family as well. There are FIVE of us: Mom, Dad, Buzz, Twirl and Chomp. We make up ONE family. The same is true with the Trinity. There are three of them: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Together they make up one "family". They seem to understand that point. They also did a very good job explaining back to me that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit worked together to create the world.
